Scratch is a block-based visual programming language developed by MIT designed for children aged 7 and above. You can use it to create games, animations and even your own interactive stories. This easy drag and drop interface makes it easy for kids to learn how to code even though they are not as proficient with a keyboard yet.
Scratch 3.0 is the next generation of Scratch – designed to expand how, what, and where you can create with Scratch. It includes dozens of new sprites, a totally new sound editor, and many new programming blocks. And with Scratch 3.0, you are able to create and play projects on your tablet, in addition to your laptop or desk computer.

Students will learn about algorithms, loops, conditionals and much more. Best part is, each lesson is Project Based. Ever wanted to be a musician but lacked the instruments? Well, now is your chance to be Mozart. In this project, students will create a Happy Birthday song. Students will learn about Loops and its importance in the world of coding. Students will be able to design an interactive piano-instrument by the end of the lesson.
From animations to music creation, we now end with everyone’s favourite, game creation. In this lesson, we explore the use of If statements and conditionals. Students will put into practice, Loops and If else statements to create a simple apple catching game. At the end of the project, students would have even learnt about Sensing and how our programs can become ‘smarter’.
