TIME: 4 X 25 MINS ACTIVITIES | LEVEL: BEGINNER | GRADE: PRESCHOOL
Activity 1: KUBO takes a trip (25 minutes)
Materials needed: Pencils, KUBO Robot, KUBO Activity Map, Movement TagTiles, Blue Record and Play Function TagTiles and Red Record and Play Function TagTiles
By the end of this section, your students or children will be able to:
♦ Work with subroutines
♦ Make 2 functions to complete a route and turn a function into a subroutine
Activity 2: Your turn to be a robot (25 minutes)
Materials needed: Worksheet 3.2, Pencils, Paper and Scissors
By the end of this section, your students or children will be able to:
♦ Work with subroutines
♦ Use their body to execute functions and understand subroutines
Activity 3: KUBO goes to the baker (25 minutes)
Materials needed: Pencils, Worksheet 3.3, KUBO Robot, KUBO Activity Map, Movement TagTiles, Blue Record and Play Function TagTiles and Red Record and Play Function TagTiles
By the end of this section, your students or children will be able to:
♦ Work with subroutines
♦ Create stories to match the actions they program KUBO to do on the activity map. They have to use at least 1 subroutine
Activity 4: KUBO leaves the baker (25 minutes)
Materials needed: Pencils, Paper, KUBO Robots, KUBO Activity Map, Movement TagTiles, Blue Record and Play Function TagTiles and Red Record and Play Function TagTiles
By the end of this section, your students or children will be able to:
♦ Work with subroutines
♦ Create stories to match the actions they program KUBO to do on the activity map. They have to start at the baker.
By the end of this section, students should be able to:
♦ Build subroutines within function.
♦ Explain your subroutines to classmates.
♦ Come up with stories to fit your subroutines.
♦ Explain how your classmates’ subroutines work.
