MakerFun Camp 1 – How to build an Animation machine?

Age – 7 to 10 yrs

Details – The MakerFun Camp promises to get students to put on their engineering caps and be a maker with various LEGO Education sets. Students will be given a specific task and tools to work on and explore thematic issues. Students will learn about various mechanisms and basic engineering concepts. Students will be innovative in their building as they will be tasked to build without guides or building instructions. The theme surrounds around the history of Animation machines, Use of Animation in current world and building a building a machine which involves the elements of Animation

Pre – requisite – None , This camp is suitable for anyone who likes to tinker around with the LEGO parts and love building something meaningful right from scratch.

2. MakerFun Camp 2 – What are mechanical Toy?

Age – 7 to 10 yrs

Duration – 4 hrs

Details – In this camp students will continue to enhance their problem solving skills . This camp will delve further into getting students to put on their thinking caps and get creative with solving issues based on the theme of the camp. This camp will focus more on modern vs traditional toys. Learn more about wooden toys and its transformation over years. Build a mechanical toy using basic scientific concepts and research.

Pre – requisite – None , This camp is suitable for anyone who likes to tinker around with the LEGO parts and love building something meaningful right from scratch.

 

 

3. Powered Machines Camp 1 – All about Gears

Age – 8 to 12 yrs

Duration – 4 hrs

Cost – $100 per child.

Details – What are Gears? Why are they so important in creating structures? Gears form the basis of movement in structures and play a key role in robotic competitions. Students will learn the foundations of Gears and the different types of gears through the use of a LEGO Education Simple and Powered Machines set. Students will investigate and experiment how different gear ratios affect the movements of the models the students build such as the Dogbot or the Walker.

Pre – requisite – None , This camp is suitable for anyone who likes to tinker around with the LEGO parts and are fascinated by how machines and mechanisms come together. They will also get a chance to implement their knowledge of engineering and scientific research in a meaningful way.

       

4. Powered Machines Camp 2 – Explore Wind Energy

Age – 8 to 12 yrs

Duration – 4 hrs

Cost – $100 per child.

DetailsStudents will further explore the use of mechanisms in this camp allowing them to understand the basis of what makes structures different. Students will explore the concept of Wind Energy and further investigate by predicting and carrying out experiments and give scientific reasoning behind the construction. Students will be inspired to be a future engineer with this camp. Some examples of models involved in this camp are Windmill, Flywheeler or Land Yacht.

Details – Take a sneak peak into the giant world of Animals. Learn more about the classifications and make it more inspiring by building a few examples of Mammals and Reptiles. In this camp the students get to research more about the life of mammals and reptiles and further indulge in their life cycles or their part in the ecosystem. Let not forget building is just the half game and the other half is about programming the model to make it work.

Details – This camp is all about an amalgamation between building, coding and robotics. It’s a fun way to introduce the children to Scratch programming wherein they will be introduced to a new coding environment, involve in simple building projects and eventually venture into learning to code the LEGO model using SCRATCH.This camp is for anyone and everyone, with or without any experience. Mostly it’s all about having fun with STEM Learning.

Pre – requisite – None , This camp is suitable for anyone who is curious about robotics and coding, also wants to explore his interest level in this current trend.

 

9. EV3 Let’s Begin

Age – 9 to 13 yrs

In this camp students will be introduced to the basics of the EV3 platform. This camp covers the basic forms of movement, with tasks and clear objectives for each session, ensuring your children comprehend the basics and are ready to progress to more advanced EV3 courses and projects.

Pre – requisite – None , This camp is suitable for anyone who is curious about robotics and wants to explore his interest level where in they would be involved in building a robot right from beginning and also learn to program it.

 

10. EV3 Space Adventure Camp

Age – 9 to 13 yrs

Duration – 8 hrs

Cost – $260 per child.

Details – Children with basic knowledge of EV3 or NXT can make use of this. camp to solve space challenge missions of their choice from the 7 listed out missions. The Space Challenge allows your child to take responsibility for their own learning. They will work as young scientists and engineers, immersing themselves in motivating STEM activities that prompt creative problem solving, communication and teamwork. There will be a mini challenge to help them revise their knowledge followed by an introduction to the space missions i.e. launching rocket in the space, activating the communications and satellites, collection rock samples, rescuing the explorer to further continue  the research etc.

Pre – requisite – EV3 beginner and above experience is a must. This particular camp is suitable for the ones who would like to practice their programming and building skills in a structured and challenge based way.
